To get to the entrance of the Uvas Canyon Park, you’ll drive through Sveadal, passing by the wooden Clubhouse and quaint cabins along the way — don’t worry, you ARE on the right road! 😊 Sveadal is a 100+ years private resort celebrating Swedish heritage. Just beyond Sveadal there is the entrance to Uvas Canyon Park and parking lots. So keep driving for a minute longer to the Park’s gate, and please do not park at the Sveadal resort.

Exploring the Waterfall Loop Trail

The Waterfall Loop trail in Uvas Canyon Park is a 1.8-mile (round-way) easy-to-moderate hike that takes you through some of the Park’s most scenic areas.

Starting from its trailhead, you’ll come across Granuja Falls, Little Falls, Upper Falls, Black Rock Falls, and Basin Falls on the top of the loop. If you are up for an adventure, you can also explore Lower Falls and Triple Falls, off the Waterfall Loop Trail.

As you step foot on the Waterfall Loop Trail, you’ll be greeted by the fresh cool air, gently blowing through the towering trees. The peaceful sounds of bubbling Swanson Creek and the melodies of chirping birds create a Zen-like atmosphere throughout your hike.

But once you come towards the waterfalls to dip your hands or toes in the refreshing crystal clear water, the roar of the water is all you’ll hear.

Caution: stepping off the trail is not recommended. The rocks can be quite slippery. So watch your step if you choose to venture off the trail.

While on the Waterfall Loop Trail, you’ll find numerous photo opportunities to stop, admire, and take in.

Getting to Uvas Canyon Park is easy, and there are several options for parking. The Park is located just 12 miles from downtown San Jose and is accessible via Uvas Road.

The Park is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset, and admission fees are $6 per vehicle. You need to make a reservation online in advance and print out the confirmation before your visit to place it on your car’s dashboard. Here is the handy link for you.
